Taurus MF Has Announced That Taurus Ethical Fund Reopens - April 09, 2009

Taurus Mutual Fund has announced that Taurus Ethical Fund re-opens for continuous sale and re-purchase with effect from 13 April 2009 at NAV based price plus applicable load. Taurus Ethical Fund is India's first actively managed equity oriented Shariah compliant fund. Taurus Ethical Fund is an open-ended equity oriented scheme.

The new issue was opened for subscription from 19 February 2009 till 20 March 2009. The investment objective of the scheme is to provide capital appreciation and income distribution to unit holders through investment in a diversified portfolio of equities, which are based on the principles of Shariah.

The scheme may also invest in a certain portion of the corpus in money market instruments to meet liquidity requirements from time to time. Taurus Ethical Fund will have growth and dividend option. Under dividend option investors will get dividend payout and reinvestment facility.

The fund will charge an entry load of 2.25%. Exit load will be 1% for redemptions done up to 6 months from the date of allotment, 0.5% for redemptions after 6 months and up to one year and nil for all redemptions after one year for all one time investments.

The scheme will invest up to 80% in equity & equity related instruments with high-risk profile and up to 20% in money market instruments with low risk profile. Investment in foreign securities will not exceed 20% of the corpus.

The performance of the scheme will be measured against S&P CNX 500 Shariah.

Taurus MF Comes Out With 100% Dividend - Feb 6, 2009

Taurus Mutual Fund has come out with a 100% dividend for Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan (FMP) 90 Days-Series 1.The record date for the dividend is January 22, 2009. All investors under dividend option of Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan (FMP) 90 Days-Series 1, whose names appear on the scheme books as on or before the record date, are eligible. The objective of the fund is to generate income with minimum volatility through investments in the portfolio of debts as well as money market instruments. The NAV of the fund as on January 15, 2009 was Rs. 10.25.

Taurus MF Announces Changes - Dec 23, 2008

Taurus Mutual Fund has announced the following changes in the load structure for investments under Taurus Income Fund:For investments less than Rs. 50 lacs, exit load of 2% will be charged if units are redeemed within 1 year, or 1% if units are redeemed after 1 year but within 2 years. For investments of Rs. 50 lacs and more, an exit load of 0.50% will be charged if units are redeemed within 6 months.


Earlier, an exit load of 0.25% was charged if units were redeemed within 3 months. Taurus Income Fund is an open ended bond fund with an investment objective to maximise income through a basket of debts, bonds, debentures, government securities and money market instruments etc of varying maturities while maintaining safety and liquidity.

Taurus MF Files Another Offer Document With Sebi - Dec 16, 2008

Name of Fund: Taurus Quarterly Interval Fund Series QI-1, Type of Scheme: It is a debt oriented interval fund.Investment Objective: The investment objective of the Scheme is to generate returns with minimum volatility through investments in a portfolio of debt (including securitised debt) and money market instruments with a provision to offer liquidity at regular intervals. The Scheme does not guarantee any assured returns.


Investment Options: The Schemes will offer two plans i.e. retail and institutional plan with growth and dividend option. Dividend option will further offer dividend payout and dividend reinvestment sub options.


Asset Allocation: Under normal circumstances the scheme will invests upto entire corpus in the money market instruments with low risk profile and in government securities issued by central &/or state government & other fixed income / debt securities including but not limited to corporate bonds and securitised debt with low to medium risk profile.


Investment in securitised debt may go upto 50% of the net assets of the scheme. The scheme may, from time to time, hold cash for to meet the redemption requirements and to lag in deal date and value date of acquiring an asset.


NFO price: Rs 10 per unit, Entry Load: The scheme will not charge an entry load. Exit Load: The scheme will charge 3.00% of exit load if redeemed at anytime other than the Specified transaction period. Nil if redeemed during specified transaction period.


The Scheme is an interval scheme and each plan of the scheme shall be available for subscription/switch-ins and redemption/switch-outs, without any load during the specified transaction period which would be for a minimum of one business day and maximum of three business days.


The first specified transaction period would be available after 91 days from the date of allotment in the New Fund Offer. Subsequent Transaction Periods would be available after 91 days of the last business day of the previous Specified Transaction Period.


Minimum Investment Amount: The minimum investment amount under retail option is Rs 25,000 and in multiples of Re 1 thereafter and under institutional plan the minimum investment amount is Rs 5 lakh in multiples of Re 1 thereafter.


Minimum Targeted amount: The Fund seeks to collect a minimum subscription amount of Rs I crore under each series during NFO. Benchmark Index: CRISIL Short Term Bond Fund Index, Fund Manager: Kumar Nathani will manage the fund.

Taurus MF Commences Liquid Plus Fund Amount - Nov 22, 2008

Taurus Mutual Fund has revealed Taurus Liquid Plus Fund on 24 November 2008. The scheme is available for fresh subscription until 26 November 2008. The new issue price is at Rs 10 per unit during new fund offer period. The scheme reopens on 8 December 2008.Taurus Liquid Plus Fund is an open- ended debt scheme, with an investment objective of generating returns with higher liquidity and low volatility from a portfolio of money market and debt instruments. However, there is no assurance that the investment objective of the scheme will be realized.

The Liquid Plus Fund will have retail, institutional and super institutional plan with growth and dividend option. Under dividend option, only dividend reinvestment facility is available.Investors under retail plan should apply for minimum amount of Rs 5000 and in multiple of Rs 1000, under institutional plan they should invest minimum of Rs 10 lakh and in multiple of Re. 1 for fresh purchases. While, super institutional plan may seek of Rs 50 lakh and in multiple of Re. 1 as minimum application amount.

Taurus MF Collects Rs 40.1 Crore Through Its FMP - Nov 14, 2008

Taurus Mutual Fund raised about Rs 40.10 crore through Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan - 30 Days Series 2 during its new fund offer period from 27 -29 October 2008. Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan -30 Days-Series 2 is a close ended debt scheme, with an investment objective of generating income with minimum volatility through investments in a portfolio of debt (including securitised debt) and money market instruments.

Taurus MF Commences 30 Days Fixed Maturity Plan - Oct 31, 2008

Taurus Mutual Fund has unveiled Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan -30 Days-Series 2 on 27 October 2008. The scheme is available for fresh subscription until 29 October 2008. The new issue price is at Rs 10 per unit during new fund offer period. Taurus Fixed Maturity Plan -30 Days-Series 2 is a close ended debt scheme, with an investment objective of generating income with minimum.volatility through investments in a portfolio of debt (including securitised debt) and money market instruments.

The 30 days FMP-Series 2 will have retail and institutional plan with growth and dividend option. The dividend option will be available under two sub-options - the payout option and the reinvestment option. Investors under retail plan should apply for minimum amount of Rs 5000 and under institutional plan they should invest minimum of Rs 10 lakh and in multiple of Re. 1 for fresh purchases and Re.0.01 for inter plan switches.

Taurus MF Changes Fund Manager

Mr. Kumar Nathani who was fund manager for Libra Bond Fund, Libra Gilt Fund and Taurus Liquid Fund has resigned from the services of the company from 1 January 2008. Mr. R.K. Gupta who is already the fund manager for Taurus the Starshare, Bonanza Exclusive Growth scheme-open and Taurus Infra-Tips is now the fund manager of Libra Bond Fund, Libra Gilt Fund and Taurus Liquid Fund also.

Taurus MF Amends Minimum Application Amount For Seven Schemes

Taurus mutual fund has revised the offer document for its seven schemes namely Taurus the Starshare, Discovery Stock Fund, Bonanza Exclusive Growth Scheme, Taurus INFRA - Tip, Libran Bond Fund, Libra Gilt Fund and Taurus Liquid Fund. The fund has amended the minimum application amount under all this schemes. Currently the minimum application amount is Rs 1000 and in multiple of Rs 1000 thereafter. From 21 January the minimum application amount will be Rs 1000 and in multiple of Re 1 thereafter.
