Equity diversified NAVs have lost gains yesterday and ended with advance:decline ratio of 3:175 as the markets were seen consolidating at the higher levels and ended the day in red amid an extremely volatile session. The Sensex was down 113.64 points or 0.57% at 19724.35, and the Nifty down 34.20 points or 0.58% at 5866.45.
On the sectoral front, auto, FMCG, pharma and technology funds declined sharply while banking funds advanced. The BSE Auto, FMCG, IT and Healthcare indices were down 2.1%, 4.16%, 0.07% and 0.46%, respectively while Bankex up 1.84%.
Long term debt funds also finished with lower returns, advance:decline ratio of 28:43.

Among the equity diversified funds, the top gainers were Fidelity International Opportunities Fund (G) up 0.72%, HDFC Capital Builder Fund (G) up 0.72 Principal Growth Fund (G) up 2.95%. The top losers were Taurus Discovery Fund down 4.41%, JM Contra Fund (G) down 3.12% and JM Equity Fund (G) down 2.82%.
Among the tax saving funds, the only gainer was HDFC Long Term Advantage Fund (G) up 0.04%. The the top gainers were Taurus Libra Tax Shield down 3.95%,. DSP-MLTax Saver Fund (G) down 2.17%. and Reliance Tax Saver (ELSS) Fund (G) down 1.74%.
Among the sector funds, the top gainers were UTI Banking Sector Fund (G) up 1.07%, Reliance Banking Fund (G) up 0.58% and JM Financial Services Sector Fund (G) up 0.53%. The top losers were Kotak MNC down 2.46%, JM Auto Sector Fund (G) down 2.05% and SBI Magnum Pharma Fund (G) down 1.84%.
Among the balanced funds, the top gainers were UTI Mahila Unit Scheme (G) up 0.14%, Sundaram BNP Paribas Balanced Fund (G) up 0.07% and Kotak Balance up 0.03%. The top losers were LIC MF Balanced Fund - C (G) down 2.04%, ICICI Pru Child Care Plan - Gift Plan down 1.49% and Kotak Dynamic Asset Allocation (G) down 1.48%.
